The Children’s Health Insurance Program, (CHIP), currently provides health insurance coverage to over 9 million American children and pregnant women from low-income working families. Since it was first created in 1997, the program has enjoyed broad bi-partisan support in Congress and in the public. Unfortunately, the program, which is funded by both the federal and state governments, is set to lose all federal funding if it is not reauthorized by October 1, 2017.
For more information about the program and how you can help ensure its continued success, please see the attached Action Alert.
